Five years ago, Mike Freed decided he really wanted to help support legal aid. "I figured I had to do something big to get people to give big," says the business litigator at Gunster’s Jacksonville office. "That’s when I decided to run across the state—Tallahassee to Jacksonville, courthouse to courthouse, 26.2 miles each day." There was one hitch: He wasn’t a runner. "So I trained myself to run long distances without much recovery time."
